Walworth Town Hall, a landmark in South London since 1894, has been revitalized following a devastating fire in 2013. Southwark Council partnered with General Projects, who, alongside architects Feix&Merlin, focused on restoring the building's heritage while transforming it into a modern cultural and workspace hub. The project includes a new purpose-built community space for local events and activities, alongside 50,000 sq ft of creative workspaces for independent businesses. A central atrium will foster collaboration, and a new entrance and café will anchor the building to its community. The restoration is a collaborative effort with Southwark Council, English Heritage, and local groups, aiming to balance cultural, commercial, and community needs.
