As the UK elderly population continues to age, living longer with more complex conditions, can the UK real estate market keep up with demand? The need for additional supply must be balanced with sustainable solutions including affordable care options for the majority of elderly care home occupants who often cannot afford the cost of self-funded care for long periods.
About the speakers:
Sophie Cooper, Director, Healthcare Advisory, CBRE. Sophie has spent the last 8 years specialising in healthcare real estate consultancy services and helps investors and providers optimise third healthcare real estate strategies using research and analytics to support decision-making. Sophie will provide an update on the current healthcare real estate landscape followed by a panel discussion with key investors in the sector with input on the role ESG plays.
Laura Jones, Associate Director, ESG Consultancy, CBRE. Laura was an integral part of launching and growing CBRE’s Sustainability in Valuations team, which seeks to better understand the relationship between sustainability and property value. Laura provides ESG advice and technical support to UK investors, including delivery of services relating to decarbonisation, social value, environmental and transition risks.
Martin Robb, Managing Director at Impact Health Partners LLP. Impact Healthcare Partners are the investment manager to Impact Healthcare REIT. The REIT own 7,721 beds in 140 care homes with a Market Value of £670M and a WAULT of 20.5 years.
Rob Scholes, Investment Director at Target Fund Managers. Target are a specialist investor in UK health and social care, managing a portfolio of modern, purpose-built care homes with assets under management of over £1 billion.
